Business Development Specialist

Eduworks Corporation has developed technology that provides customers with data-driven actionable views into individual and team skills and performance.

We are seeking a Business Development Specialist who will assist in capturing business and maintaining relationships on projects that apply this technology to solve a variety of customer problems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with and support the efforts of Eduworks Business Development Directors and Senior Management engaged in Business Development and Sales
  • Identify and track opportunities
  • Contribute to proposals

Required skills and experience include:

  • Strong organizational and customer-facing communication skills

Chatbot Developer

Eduworks is seeking a skilled Chatbot Developer with some experience in natural language processing to improve the design and implementation of an open-source-based chatbot prototype.

The chatbot will serve as an alternative user interface to an existing, proprietary knowledge base of scientific and domain-specific data. It also will be implemented in conjunction with the development of UI/UX client applications and the development of data management systems, and pipelines to efficiently combine data from multiple sources through a shared API. The chatbot design and implementation will include collaboration with the data and UI/UX teams to ensure that endpoint design is consistent across the three pieces.

Key Skills, Abilities, and Experience Required:

  • Prior experience building robust, scalable conversational agents or dialog management systems
  • Prior successful implementation of a chatbot in at least one open-source ChatBot development framework
  • Prior experience with Natural Language Processing, including experience with text classification, sentiment analysis, and named entity recognition
  • Prior experience using large language models (e.g. BERT, GPT-2, etc) to develop NLP solutions, including fine-tuning for specific domains with supplementary datasets, and using labeled data to train for specific tasks.
  • Familiarity with standard open-source NLP toolkits (e.g. NLTK, Gensim, OpenNLP)
  • Excellent experience designing and implementing applications in both Python and at least one JVM-based language
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team to ensure smooth design, integration, and testing

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience with pre-training language models for specialized purposes
  • Prior experience implementing semantic search solutions
  • Prior experience with basic image recognition approaches
  • Prior experience with Rasa open-source chatbot environment
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases, data streaming, and integrating unstructured data would be a plus

Project Manager

We are seeking a project manager for a growing portfolio of applied research projects funded by US Department of Defense (DoD) agencies.

These projects use leading-edge methods in machine learning, natural language processing, and signal processing. This is an entry-level position aiming to develop new talent that can help us grow successful projects. Extensive experience with formal project management is not required, although some familiarity with organizational tools such as Gantt charts is a plus, as DoD experience. We are looking for someone with technical understanding who also has excellent prioritization, organizational, business, and communication skills to join our flexible, performance-based team.

Duties and responsibilities

Over the course of a project, the Project Manager will need to communicate with staff and clients, make decisions and monitor the progress of the project to keep it on schedule. Important responsibilities for a Project Manager include:

  • Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
  • Delegating tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them
  • Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
  • Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
  • Communicating with executives or the board to keep the project aligned with their goals
  • Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected
  • Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change

Full Stack Developer

We are looking for a full-stack developer to work on a federally funded project that is creating new ways to combat attacks that involve impersonating a caller electronically or via social engineering.

The successful candidate will join a world-class research engineering team that values autonomy, independence, and creativity and that will provide frequent mentoring and professional development opportunities.

Basic requirements include:
  • BS or BA or equivalent degree
  • Status as a US Citizen or Permanent Residence
  • Coding skills
  • 2+ years of real-world coding experience
  • 2+ years of experience working as a developer on commercial software projects
Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Engage in all aspects of software development by
    • Researching and recommending methods and technologies for use in development;
    • Designing software specifications that meet requirements laid out by proposals and customers;
    • Developing functional, maintainable, and readable code;
    • Testing, documenting, and debugging errors in software applications and components; and
    • Developing documentation and demos of software developed.
  • Work closely with other software engineers, project managers, testers and customers to understand project requirements, iteratively develop high quality software, and respond to input and feedback.
  • Produce documented quality software that can be easily integrated with other Eduworks’ projects.
  • Support and assist other software engineers in maintaining server infrastructure, producing demonstrable products, and writing technical documents to aid in integration and use.
  • Maintain a high level of professional expertise and knowledge of relevant technologies, developments, trends, tools, and Eduworks solutions.
  • Learn new languages, frameworks, methods, and technologies as necessitated by projects and tasks.
  • Perform other software development and IT duties as assigned.
